Located in a mountainous region that was cut off from the rest of the world for a long period of time, Shirakawa-go is famous for the traditional houses called Gassho-zukuri that refers to the shape of the roofing that looks like a person's hands put together for praying. Surrounded by snow, flowers, greens and red leaves of autumn, every season there has its unique special beauty as it is designated as UNESCO World Heritage Sites and reserved stars in the Michelin Guide. Please enjoy walking around and see all the beauty with an expert guide.
